Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP1 track. You will assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care for an assigned group, coordinating with RNs, LVN/LPNs and technicians to deliver dialysis therapy.

You will educate patients and families, participate in team decisions, and advance through CAP requirements while supporting quality improvement initiatives in an End Stage Kidney Disease setting.

Qualifications

• Entry level RN with less than 2 years in Nephrology Nursing.
• Minimum 9 months RN experience prior to CAP1 supervision.
• 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as RN.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential nursing duties under supervision and guidance from educator or RN.
• Collect and analyse patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis; adjust care plan as needed.
• Educate patients and families on learning needs and care plans.
• Direct daily delivery of safe hemodialysis with staff collaboration.
• Administer medications per prescriptions or approved algorithms and document effectiveness.
• Initiate or assist with emergency responses.
• Serve as resource and participate in staff training and orientation.
• Ensure proper lab collection, processing, and transport; reschedule misses.
• Update nursing assessment and care plans with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Discuss transplant and treatment modality options with patients.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance.
