Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program in Erlanger, KY. You will provide clinically competent care, coordinate assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned patient group within the ESKD care team.

You will collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians, supervise learners, and contribute to quality improvement activities while pursuing CAP requirements for advancement.

Qualifications

• Entry-level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure and CPR BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient data during hemodialysis and adjust treatment plan as needed.
• Educate patients and families on learning needs and treatment options.
• Provide safe hemodialysis therapy with the health care team.
• Administer medications as prescribed or via approved algorithms.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
• Serve as a resource and participate in staff training and orientation.
• Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures.
• Document nursing assessments and plan of care in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Adhere to CAP requirements to advance and perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

CPR BLS Certification

Current appropriate state licensure
