Fresenius Medical Care in Columbia, SC is seeking an Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) CAP 1 to join the clinical advancement program. The role focuses on comprehensive nephrology nursing care, patient education, and coordinating dialysis treatment for an assigned group of patients.

The position requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, active state licensure, and CPR/BLS certification. Entry-level experience in nephrology preferred, with potential for CAP advancement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• CPR and BLS certification.
• Minimum 9 months RN experience; 3 months dialysis experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform comprehensive patient data collection before, during, and after hemodialysis; document findings in medical records and adjust care plans as needed.
• Provide patient and family education on treatment options, including transplant and modality decisions.
• Direct and collaborate with RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Patient Care Techs to deliver safe hemodialysis therapy.
• Administer prescribed medications and document justification and effectiveness.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in quality improvement activities as part of the care team.
• Coordinate and ensure proper specimen collection, handling, and lab shipping procedures.
