Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the United States seeks an Insurance and Financial Assistance Coordinator to educate dialysis patients on Medicare, Medicaid, and related programs, and to coordinate insurance options across clinics in the assigned region.

You will gather documents, facilitate applications, verify eligibility, and track waiver and indigent program processes, while ensuring data accuracy for the AR team.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of related experience in healthcare or insurance coordination.
• Experience with Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid systems a plus.
• Past patient interaction is a plus.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Strong customer service philosophy and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients on Medicare, Medicaid, and COBRA options and coordinates insurance choices.
• Obtains documents, follows up on applications, and ensures timely enrollment.
• Tracks indigent waivers and annual applications; verifies spend-down amounts.
• Monitors and updates insurance information for AR and QA processes.
• Prepares monthly reports and audits patient insurance data in billing systems.
• Travels locally to clinics and engages with patients and staff as necessary.
