Job summary

The Scheduler coordinates outpatient diagnostic testing and surgical procedures for Norton Medical Group patients. They guide doctor’s offices and patients on pre-procedure preparations and collect basic demographics and insurance information.

Using the EPIC system and other methods, they review orders to ensure information is complete and meets criteria. No experience is required; on-the-job training is provided to learn the workflow.

Qualifications

• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• One year scheduling tests/procedures or patient registration experience in a healthcare setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for outpatient diagnostic testing and/or surgical procedures.
• Instruct doctor’s offices and/or patients on pre-procedure clinical preparations.
• Obtain basic demographic and insurance information and review orders for completeness and criteria.
