Job summary

NYU Langone Health seeks an X-Ray Technologist – Bellevue to perform medically prescribed radiographic procedures with strict adherence to protocols and safety standards. You will ensure high-quality imaging, patient safety, and compliant documentation in a dynamic clinical setting.

The role requires accurate patient positioning, radiation safety, RIS/PACS/EMR proficiency, and collaboration with the care team to support efficient imaging workflows and exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• New York State Radiologic Technology License.
• New York State Radiologic Technology Permit can be accepted in lieu of NYS License.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations independently in accordance with departmental protocols and physician orders.
• Accurately position patients and imaging equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.
• Select and adjust technical factors to ensure image quality and patient safety.
• Utilize lead markers, shielding, immobilization devices, and positioning aids appropriately.
• Generate high-quality digital images; produce hard copies when required.
• Review images for technical quality and completeness prior to submission to PACS/EMR.
• Follow special instructions indicated on radiographic requisitions.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers; explain procedures; ensure comfort, privacy, and dignity.
