Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Cytotechnologist to perform diagnostic cytology and cytopreparatory tasks under general supervision. The role requires ASCP Cytotechnology certification and completion of an accredited cytotechnology program with laboratory experience.

Responsibilities include slide evaluation, quality control, intra-operative assistance, and participation in education programs to maintain high standards of patient care. This is an on-site position in Towson, MD.

Qualifications

• Completion of cytotechnology education with accredited program.
• Current ASCP Cytotechnology certification required.
• Experience or training as described for level of education.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate microscopic slides and provide diagnostic cytologic interpretation.
• Maintain turnaround times for cytopreparatory functions and apply corrective actions.
• Assist in intra-operative consultations and coordinate tasks for efficiency.
• Perform quality control and preventive maintenance per guidelines.
• Participate in instrumentation evaluation and supply management.
• Contribute to continuing education and share knowledge from seminars.
