Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Cytotechnologist to evaluate cytology samples and provide accurate diagnoses within department guidelines. The role supports CLIA'88 compliance and requires knowledge of diagnostic principles and quality control.

The position includes slide preparation from FNA procedures, QA/QC responsibilities, and collaboration with pathologists and staff. ASCP CT/SCT certification or equivalent within 1 year is required, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of training in a CAAHEP-approved cytotechnology program.
• Participation in cytology proficiency testing and continuing education (minimum 12 credit hours).
• Must be able to work in a lab environment and maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate gynecologic and non-gynecologic samples for malignant changes and screening productivity.
• Ensure accurate labeling, data entry, and timely reporting according to QA programs.
• Prepare cytology slides from FNA procedures and assist in QC/QA for cytology, IHC, and molecular testing.
