Job summary

Altron Inc. seeks a DevSecOps Engineer to join the Navy Programs team in Middletown, RI. You will build, secure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines behind critical software systems for U.S. Navy platforms, emphasizing secure, rapid deployments on Kubernetes.

The role requires DoD Secret Clearance, U.S. citizenship, and 4–6 years in DevOps/SRE. Competitive salary with bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 4–6 years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Solid Bash and Python scripting skills.
• Hands-on container experience with Docker/Podman.
• Experience building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI and Bamboo.
• Proficiency with Git, Bitbucket, and GitLab workflows.
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL).
• Basic networking knowledge (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, TLS).
• Effective communication across teams and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI and Bamboo for Navy submarine-focused systems.
• Create and manage container images/registries and deployment strategies for Kubernetes-based runtimes.
• Automate with Bash/Python; implement IaC practices across dev and lab environments.
• Enforce security practices: image scanning, secrets management, access controls.
• Monitor health, performance, and incidents; perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and product leads; produce runbooks and docs.
