Altron, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the Navy Programs team. You will guide architecture, design and fielding of mission-critical software for Navy submarines, carriers and shore platforms, while mentoring engineers and ensuring robust CI/CD practices.

The role requires 8+ years in software, strong C++11+ on Linux, and DoD Secret clearance. Location is Middletown, RI with competitive base pay and a sign-on bonus along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Technical lead on a complex software product or integration effort.
• U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance.
• Strong C++11+ design, debugging and performance skills.
• Linux experience (RHEL or derivatives) and distributed systems expertise.

Responsabilités

• Lead architecture, design, development and integration of C++ software for Navy systems.
• Set technical direction across application, middleware, and deployment layers.
• Migrate legacy apps to a Kubernetes-based platform.
• Design and integrate distributed applications using gRPC, Protobuf and messaging.
• Lead code reviews, mentoring, and ensure secure coding practices.
