Job summary

Altron Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Navy Programs team in Middletown, RI. You will support requirements analysis, design, integration, and testing of mission-critical systems for U.S.

Navy submarines, carriers, and shore platforms. You will collaborate with software engineers, product leads, and testers in an agile environment while maintaining documentation and supporting accreditation efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 1–2 years of engineering experience.
Understanding of the system development life cycle: requirements, design, integration, verification.
Experience with requirements management tools (IBM DOORS, Jama, or similar).
Experience producing technical documentation (specifications, interface definitions, drawings, test procedures).
Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach and tools.

Responsibilities

Support requirements analysis and management, including decomposition, tracing, and maintaining system requirements.
Participate in functional and performance analysis, system design, and trade studies with guidance from senior engineers.
Define and document interfaces between system components, software, and external systems.
Develop engineering products such as specifications, interface documents, diagrams, and test procedures.
Support system integration and verification testing in lab environments and trace test results to requirements.
Identify and help resolve system design/interface issues discovered during development, integration, and test.
Assist with system accreditation and certification activities by preparing documentation and evidence.
