Job summary

Morning Consult is hiring a DevOps engineer to build scalable AI-powered product infrastructure. You will own IaC and CI/CD pipelines, shaping architecture with product and data engineers, and driving projects from scoping to rollout.

The role focuses on AWS security, reliability and cost-efficiency with strong emphasis on observability and automation. Remote or office-based in DC, Chicago, or NYC, with equity eligibility.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AWS experience with core services and security best practices.
• 2-4 years of DevOps engineering experience in a small or mid-size company.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to own projects end to end and explain tradeoffs to engineers outside infrastructure.
• Curiosity about AI and using AI tools to speed up infra tasks.
• Nice to have: Kubernetes experience.

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines so engineering teams can ship safely, often and with confidence.
• Bring an infrastructure perspective to architecture decisions early, working alongside engineers rather than at handoff.
• Improve observability, alerting and incident response, tracing root causes and sharing learnings.
• Lead defined infrastructure projects from scoping through rollout.
• Keep our AWS environment secure, reliable and cost-efficient.
• Review teammates' infrastructure code and share learnings.
• Use AI tools in your own infrastructure work, and share what works so the whole team gets faster.
