Job summary

ALSAC, supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, is seeking a Development Specialist to champion peer-to-peer fundraising, sponsorship solicitations, and radio telethon support.

The role drives regional and national fundraising initiatives and requires hands-on donor cultivation and event leadership. You will cultivate relationships, manage campaigns, and travel as needed to advance the mission at our Territory Office in New York.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, marketing, or related experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience with social media for engagement and digital campaigns.
• Analytical skills to review data, identify trends, and track performance.
• Proficiency in fundraising, public relations, exceptional communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
• Proven experience in face-to-face interaction with event volunteers and sponsors.
• Data processing proficiency.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Exceed financial goals by surpassing targets set by regional leadership.
• Cultivate authentic relationships with volunteers, donors, and sponsors through face-to-face interactions.
• Empower fundraising initiatives via multiple channels including in-person visits, written correspondence, and digital platforms.
• Lead national initiatives like St. Jude Dream Home campaigns, radiothons, and school-based events.
• Create tailored cultivation plans for volunteers, donors, and sponsors with personalized outreach.
• Oversee events and manage logistics, vendor contacts, and meticulous recordkeeping.
• Pursue sponsorship leads, craft proposals, and maintain contact lists.
• Lead event promotion and recruitment strategies for portfolio events.
• Stay informed on market trends and regional developments to identify new opportunities.
• Provide reports, progress updates, and forecasts to support decisions.
• Contribute to regional meetings and budgeting processes.
• Travel periodically to support events and business needs.
