Job summary

ALSAC, supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, seeks a Development Specialist in New York, NY. The role focuses on peer-to-peer fundraising, sponsor solicitations, and radio telethon support.

You will cultivate volunteers and donors, manage events, and lead national initiatives from the NYC Territory Office. Required: 3 years in fundraising/sales/marketing and strong communication, with a valid driver’s license. Hybrid schedule available at 60 East 42nd Street, New York, NY.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, marketing, or related experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience with social media platforms, creating content, engaging audiences, and using digital channels.
• Analytical skills to review data, identify trends, and support decisions.
• Strong fundraising and public relations, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
• Proven face-to-face interaction with volunteers and sponsors.
• Proficiency in data processing applications.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Exceed financial and stewardship targets set by regional leadership.
• Cultivate authentic relationships with volunteers, donors, and sponsors through in-person interactions.
• Ignite fundraising initiatives using multiple channels including visits, letters, and digital platforms.
• Lead national fundraising projects such as Dream Home campaigns, radiothons, and school events.
• Create tailored cultivation plans for volunteers and donors with personalized follow-up.
• Oversee event logistics, vendor contacts, and recordkeeping for programs.
• Pursue sponsorship opportunities; research prospects and craft proposals.
• Lead marketing and recruitment efforts for events and partnerships.
• Actively participate in events to ensure success and engagement.
• Stay informed about market trends and regional opportunities.
• Provide reports, progress updates, and forecasts for leadership decisions.
• Contribute to regional meetings and budgeting processes.
• Travel periodically to support events and business needs.
