Job summary

The ALS Association is seeking a mission-driven Development Manager to lead Walk to Defeat ALS and other fundraising events in South Florida & the Treasure Coast. You’ll report to the Director of Development and collaborate with the team to meet fundraising and budget goals by recruiting and stewarding participants and sponsors.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in fundraising and event management, strong organizational skills, and the ability to build relationships with community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years in fundraising, event management, volunteer development and management, public relations, donor cultivation and sponsor cultivation.
• Ability to manage participants in online fundraising platforms and run reports to build outreach plans.
• Strong organizational skills and sound judgment for prioritizing events.
• Effective written and oral communication across multiple constituencies.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Proficiency with Windows programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using donor databases (Salesforce/Blackbaud) and Canva/Adobe Suite/Tableau/Greater Giving/Spekit is a plus.
• Must have access to a vehicle for frequent travel throughout the territory.

Responsibilities

• Meet an income portfolio goal of $400,000+ including Walk to Defeat ALS Boynton Beach and other events.
• Recruit, steward, and retain committee chairs and volunteers; build partnerships with community partners.
• Collaborate with Event Experience team to manage logistics, printing, and promotional materials.
• Operate within budgetary guidelines and work with Care Services to involve people living with ALS and families.
• Coordinate with MarCom for marketing and PR objectives; engage corporate and individual donors.
• Represent the organization at community events and coordinate promotional materials.
• Support Territory team and leadership with tasks to grow fundraising effectiveness and mission activities.
