Job summary

Breakthrough T1D is seeking a Development Manager to drive integrated fundraising efforts across an assigned event portfolio. You will build relationships with donors and volunteers, expand reach, and increase revenue through strategic engagement and stewardship.

This role supports the Eastern PA and NJ territory with hybrid work—two days in the office and three remote/field days—and travel within the region as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of fundraising experience in a mission-driven organization with revenue responsibilities over $500k.
• Experience partnering with active volunteers and large networks of donors.
• Demonstrate energy, integrity, empathy, and creativity; be a team player.
• Willingness to travel locally; evening and weekend work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Fundraising & Engagement: secure event sponsors and drive revenue for assigned events.
• Provide 1:1 coaching on fundraising best practices for participants.
• Develop recruitment and engagement events to boost participation and fundraising activity.
• Implement revenue and engagement plans to achieve chapter goals and growth.
• Collaborate with national and chapter partners to grow the event portfolio.
• Implement stewardship strategies for all event supporters.
• Drive foundation and donor pipeline activities for long-term success.
• Retain, acquire and activate supporters to meet goals.
• Volunteer Management: recruit and manage volunteer leaders and committees.
• Engage volunteers and solicit funding and other support.
• Awareness: promote Breakthrough T1D mission in community and research efforts.
• Administration: maintain policies, use fundraising platforms, and monitor KPI progress.
