Job summary

The Children’s Center in Richmond, VA is seeking a Development Assistant to support donor relations, data management, campaigns, and communications for a growing nonprofit. You will help ensure accurate records, coordinate events, and contribute to grant tracking with a detail‑oriented approach.

Reporting to the Director of Development, you’ll generate and analyze donor reports, assist with mailings and acknowledgments, and maintain data integrity while collaborating with staff and volunteers to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 1–2 years in administrative, development, marketing, or customer service in non-profits.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous proofreading abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process gifts and donor acknowledgments; manage online giving and mailings.
• Lead weekly/monthly Development Dashboard reporting and donor metrics.
• Coordinate financial reconciliations with the Development Director and bookkeeper.
• Assist in planning fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and grant applications.
• Coordinate in‑kind gift and wish list programs; support events and communications.
• Provide administrative support to the Director of Development and board committees.
