Job summary

American Heart Association in Morgantown and Martinsburg, WV is seeking a Development Director, School Engagement. This full-time, field-based role requires extensive travel across the northern half of West Virginia and offers a home-based setup with daily school visits.

You will lead Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge initiatives, manage data in CRM and Microsoft Office, recruit volunteers, and build relationships with teachers and district leaders.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience.
• Ability to travel locally daily and have reliable transportation.
• University or college degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work effectively from a home office and in the field.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate proactively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Extensive data management with CRM databases and MS Office.
• Ability to lift/move boxes and manage physical materials.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and engage students through schools and districts for Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge.
• Implement strategies to engage students through classroom activities and assemblies.
• Develop relationships with teachers, principals, and district superintendents.
• Maintain outstanding customer service with volunteers and collaborators; plan kick-off meetings for schools.
• Manage and update account information in CRM databases and Microsoft products.
• Handle high-volume account management with 5–10 schools daily, in person or via phone/online.
