Job summary

The American Heart Association is hiring a Development Director, School Engagement in Minnesota. This full-time, field-based role requires extensive travel across South Central and Southeast Minnesota and four counties in Northeast Iowa. Flexible hours accommodate school events and activities.

You will drive Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge outreach, manage CRM data, and build strong relationships with teachers and district leaders while meeting fundraising goals.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or other related experience.
• Ability to do daily local travel; requires access to reliable transportation.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work from home and in the field with flexible hours.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate proactively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Data management experience with CRMs and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and engage students and their families through schools and districts in life-saving initiatives including Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs.
• Implement strategies to engage students through classroom challenges, activities and assemblies (in-person and digital).
• Develop and cultivate relationships with teachers, principals, district superintendents, and survivor families.
• Establish and maintain outstanding customer service with volunteers and collaborators; plan and kickoff to set schools up for success.
• Manage and update account information within our CRM databases and Microsoft products.
• High-volume account management involving 5-10 schools daily, in-person or online/by phone.
