Job summary

Qualifications

• Eight to ten+ years of nonprofit fundraising with strategic impact.
• 3–5 years of development management at senior level.
• Five+ years in funder cultivation and closing five- to six-figure gifts.
• Proven revenue growth from foundations, government grants, and corporate donations.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and travel as needed.
• Background in real estate, food systems or public/private partnerships is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement philanthropic strategies to advance The SF Market’s mission.
• Cultivate and steward new funders, and manage major donor relationships.
• Oversee grant research, writing, and reporting with consultants.
• Direct fundraising campaigns and annual fundraising plan.
• Prepare annual reports and board communications.
• Collaborate with leadership and volunteers to meet revenue targets.
• Identify partnerships and opportunities with funders and organizations.
