Job summary

GirlVentures in San Francisco, CA seeks an experienced full-time Director of Development to lead donor relations, grants management and fundraising strategy to advance our mission for inclusive girls’ leadership and outdoor education.

You will work with the Executive Director and Board, guide budgets and reporting, and oversee events like the Fall Gala and grants pipeline, leveraging Salesforce and email tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum five years in fundraising, donor relations, grant‑writing or related field.
• Proven success in institutional and individual fundraising and events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with adaptable messaging.
• Strong budgeting, data management, and reporting skills.
• Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Excel.
• Commitment to social justice and girls’ empowerment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a development plan to increase contributed income.
• Cultivate foundation, government and corporate philanthropy.
• Oversee fundraising events and annual campaigns.
• Manage grants pipeline: LOIs, applications, reporting.
• Create donor communications and marketing materials.
• Lead Ambassadors Circle and donor cultivation efforts.
• Prepare monthly fundraising reports and budgets.
• Represent GirlVentures at events and manage staff tasks.
