Job summary

Playworks seeks a Development Director to lead the regional fundraising strategy, cultivate high-level external relationships, and drive ambitious revenue goals from major gifts, corporate partners, and foundations. This in-person role focuses on the Bay Area, primarily Oakland, with reporting to the Executive Director in Northern California.

You will manage a high-level donor portfolio, work with the Regional Advisory Board, and develop strategic plans to grow revenue streams by 10% in FY26,

Qualifications

• Experience leading regional fundraising strategy and donor stewardship.
• Proven track record securing six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Strong communication and board management skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, lead, and drive overarching fundraising strategy, operational plans, and all revenue activities to meet or exceed fundraising goals for the region.
• Maintain high renewal rates and donor relationships.
• Maximize upgrade opportunities for individual and institutional gifts.
