Job summary

Fostering Promise seeks a Director of Development to lead fundraising efforts as the organization launches its Promise Campaign in the Bay Area. You will manage a portfolio of major donors and institutional funders, perform direct asks, and craft proposals to support a $2M annual revenue goal.

The role reports to the President & CEO and requires strategic fundraising leadership. You will build pipelines, design systems to streamline asks, and collaborate across finance, programs, and governance

Qualifications

• Experience managing a portfolio of major donors and institutional funders.
• Ability to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward funders.
• Proven success writing proposals, budgets, and reports for funders.
• Strong relationship-building and communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to develop and implement a multi-year fundraising plan.

Responsibilities

• Frontline fundraising and grant writing across foundation, corporate, and government funders.
• Carry and grow a donor portfolio through identification, cultivation, and stewardship.
• Make face-to-face and virtual asks and move donors through the pipeline.
• Write, edit, and submit proposals, budgets, and reports.
• Manage the grants calendar, including deadlines and reporting.
• Oversee development budget, revenue forecasting, and campaign modeling.
• Plan donor cultivation and stewardship events and manage vendors.
