Job summary

UC San Diego Advancement’s University Development team seeks an Assistant Director of Development for the Chancellor's Associates. In this role you will lead donor-centric campaigns, identifying and cultivating leadership gifts, coordinating volunteers, and managing budgets and events to advance university priorities.

You will recruit volunteers, plan donor stewardship programs, and collaborate across campus to build a sustainable prospect pipeline while ensuring equitable and inclusive outreach

Qualifications

• Thorough fundraising and donor relations knowledge.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication to build relationships.
• Experience planning, executing and evaluating program logistics and events.
• Able to develop budgets and track revenue projections.
• Ability to mentor staff and manage volunteers toward goals.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in philanthropy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward leadership, special and high-end annual gifts.
• Recruit and coordinate Chancellor's Associates Council volunteers to support campus fundraising efforts.
• Develop and manage budgets, revenue projections and program finances for donor activities.
• Oversee events and data management; ensure accurate reporting and donor stewardship.
• Maintain strong donor relations and design reports using data analysis to advance fundraising goals.
