Job summary

UC San Diego Advancement’s University Development department seeks an Assistant Director of Development to identify and recruit volunteers for the Chancellor's Associates Council and collaborate to strengthen a culture of philanthropy on campus.

Reporting to senior leadership, the role plans budgets, revenue projections, events, data management and donor relations activities to build a sustainable prospect and donor pipeline for leadership gifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Thorough working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships across the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to independently plan, direct, execute and evaluate logistics of programs, events and receptions.
• Experience with budget planning and revenue projections for events and programs.
• Manage donor relations and development activities including stewardship.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to deadlines.
• Knowledge of equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
• Ability to work with diverse groups within university and community.

Responsibilities

• Identify and recruit volunteers for Chancellor's Associates Council.
• Collaborate with campus volunteers and Advancement colleagues to strengthen donor pipelines.
• Plan, develop and implement budgets and revenue projections for campaigns and events.
• Manage donor relations activities and stewardship.
• Oversee data management and reporting on prospect and donor activity.
