Job summary

The University of California, Berkeley, is seeking an Assistant Director of Development in the Division of Social Sciences to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward leadership-level prospects. You will independently manage a fundraising portfolio of approximately $500,000-$1,000,000 and collaborate with campus partners to grow unrestricted gifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience.
• Strong fundraising, donor relations concepts and practices.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and institutional information.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages a fundraising portfolio of $500k-$1M.
• Conducts ~120 donor contacts annually via meetings, Zoom or phone.
• Identifies, qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards prospects and donors.
• Collaborates to expand Deans Circle and 1903 Society memberships.
• Analyzes donor data to strengthen the leadership giving pipeline.
• Organizes donor stewardship and fundraising events.
