Job summary

Supabase is hiring an EngProd Engineer to join the Engineering Operations team and own the engineering experience from local setup to production deploy. You’ll build and integrate the tools our engineers rely on daily, including local development, code search, testing, CI, and AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, focused on developer productivity, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Passionate about developer experience and productivity; you notice when engineers fight tools and fix it.
• Proficient in Go, TypeScript, Python, Rust, and shell for building internal tools.

Responsibilities

• Improve local development and daily workflow.
• Own local development environment stability; make onboarding self-service and reproducible.
• Improve daily editing experience, IDE tooling, code search, indexing, and navigation as codebase grows.
• Build paved roads: scaffolding, templates, and golden-path workflows.
• Speed up build, test, and CI processes.
• Improve testing tooling and end-to-end environments; include mutation/chaos testing.
• Profile build/test performance; optimize CI pipelines, parallelize tests, cache aggressively.
• Integrate and optimize code review tooling and automated review.
• Bring AI into how we build; evaluate AI coding agents and assistants.
• Build and curate skills, extensions, and plugins for tools in codebase.
• Measure real impact of AI tooling; invest where it pays off.
• Drive engineering excellence and track productivity metrics (e.g., DORA).
• Maintain code-quality signals dashboards and early issue detection in the development cycle.
