Job summary

Supabase is hiring experienced performance engineers to make benchmarking and profiling rigorous, repeatable, and actionable for product teams. You will join a new performance team as one of its first members and help define how we measure performance across products.

You'll build tooling, establish baselines, and publish credible numbers for customers and the market, while enabling teams to self-serve performance testing and keep performance as a first-class engineering concern.

Qualifications

• Deep experience in performance engineering, benchmarking, and profiling of complex distributed systems.
• Ability to own benchmarking systems and ensure reproducibility and variance control.
• Strong systems intuition across databases, storage, networking, and cloud infra.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve benchmarking, profiling, and load-testing tooling (cloud, database, and end-to-end).
• Define benchmark suites and reference workloads that reflect real customer behavior.
• Establish performance baselines and regression gates across products.
• Build reports and triage workflows from benchmark results.
• Collaborate with database teams to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements.
• Enable publishing credible, repeatable performance numbers for customers.
• Help teams self-serve performance testing and elevate performance as a core discipline.
