Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Officer to oversee detainee transport operations and vehicle safety compliance.

You will supervise staff, schedule routes, and ensure adherence to DOT regulations while maintaining a high standard of safety for all personnel and detainees. Applicants should bring supervisory experience, a valid CDL, and training in corrections or law enforcement, with a commitment to ongoing safety training and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CDL B/C with Passenger endorsement within 6 months.
• Training in Corrections/Law Enforcement or Military required.
• DOT training completion required.
• CPR/First Aid and Defensive Tactics certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee team transporting detainees to various locations.
• Ensure vehicles meet policies and are maintained per laws and regulations.
• Interview and onboard Transportation Officer candidates; supervise and evaluate staff.
• Schedule daily operations according to facility requirements and DOT rules.
• Monitor vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs; reference Safe Stat records.
• Report and investigate accidents; coordinate safety committee reviews.
• Conduct safety meetings and engage with transportation authorities.
• Attend at least 8 hours of transportation or regulatory training per year.
