Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Transport Officer for GEO Secured Services in the United States. The role involves securely transporting detainees between locations, ensuring vehicle safety, and maintaining compliance with DOT regulations.

You will review inspections, assist in solving day-to-day transport problems, and ensure all permits, licenses, and safety equipment are up to date. Occasional travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state requirements may apply.
• Minimum 3 years as a law enforcement officer with arrest authority or 3 years in prisoner handling/detention roles.
• 2 years driving experience in a transportation capacity.
• CDL certification preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire if not already.
• Must pass DOT drug and alcohol test and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Transport detainees securely between destinations and ensure vehicles are safe and well maintained.
• Assist management with solving unusual transportation problems as they arise.
• Review vehicle inspection reports and summarize findings for Transportation management.
• Ensure all permits, licenses, and safety equipment are current and available for trips.
• Track DOT HOS on Electronic Logging Devices and report discrepancies.
• Participate in interviewing and screening of Transportation Officers.
• Ensure all required paperwork and reports are filed with Transportation management.
• Ensure missions meet safety measures aligned with PBNDS/FBNDS standards.
