Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time transport officer responsible for securely transporting detainees and ensuring vehicles are safe and well-maintained.

You will perform thorough pre-trip to post-trip checks, ensure regulatory compliance, and complete accurate reports. Role requires a valid CDL with a Passenger endorsement, a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of approved training in Corrections or Law Enforcement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and hold a valid CDL with Passenger endorsement.
• Completion of an approved training program in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip vehicle inspections and documents DVIRs.
• Ensures permits and licenses are current prior to trips and notifies management of issues.
• Verifies safety equipment and reports any deficiencies before trips.
• Completes paperwork accurately and timely per policy.
• Secures detainees and verifies documentation during handoffs.
• Follows all applicable safety regulations and procedures at all times.
• Communicates with safety authorities and management in case of incidents.
• Delivers vehicles for servicing and collects them when ready.
• Performs other assigned duties.
