Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Transportation Supervisor to oversee detainee transport operations and staff. You will help schedule officers and ensure safe custody and timely movements.

Responsibilities include training officers on policies, coordinating transport planning, maintaining vehicles, and reporting incidents. A valid licenses and certifications in corrections or law enforcement are required along with leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Must meet all Transportation Officer qualifications.
• One year transportation experience.
• Valid proper class motor vehicle operator’s license.
• State Firearms License required.
• State Security Guard License required.
• Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service & vehicle inspections.
• Ability to train staff & supervise
• Strong leadership & communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Transportation Supervisor or Manager in training Transportation Officers.
• Schedule Transportation Officers work assignments.
• Monitor departures/returns to ensure care and custody of detainees.
• Oversee maintenance schedules and vehicle repairs per standards.
• Respond to incidents, investigate, and report accidents.
• Transport detainees during emergencies or officer shortages.
• Issue vehicle departure orders per posted schedules.
• Maintain DOT files and regulatory knowledge.
• Possibly perform duties of Transport Supervisor/Manager in their absence.
