Job summary

Cook & Boardman, LLC in Simpsonville, SC seeks a Detailer who translates contract documents into precise door, frame, and hardware schedules, ensuring code compliance and accurate quantities for UL, fire code, ADA and life safety standards.

You will prepare shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using CAD and company software, review for errors, and maintain organized project files while coordinating with architects and the GC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in a technical/construction field preferred.
• 2–4 years of detailing, estimating, or project coordination experience in commercial construction.
• Knowledge of UL listings, fire/smoke ratings, ADA, life safety, and local building code.
• Proficiency with company detailing/scheduling software and CAD; Excel/Word/Outlook.
• Strong cost-entry accuracy and ability to reconcile quantities across documents.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents and drawings to establish accurate opening quantities and product requirements.
• Detail and schedule door, frame, and hardware materials; verify costs against estimates.
• Determine product selections per code requirements and project scope.
• Prepare shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using CAD and company tools.
• Review schedules for errors and maintain organized project files.
