Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, architecture, or construction-related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of detailing, estimating, project coordination, or specification work in commercial construction.
• Knowledge of door, frame, and hardware types and how components interact in an opening assembly.
• Working knowledge of UL listings, fire and smoke ratings, ADA, life safety, and local building codes.
• Proficiency with detailing software and Microsoft Office; CAD experience a plus.
• Strong cost entry, reconciliation, and quantity verification skills.

Responsibilities

• Review sales sheets, job requirements, and contract documents to establish quantities and product requirements.
• Detail and schedule door, frame, and hardware materials, verifying costs against estimates and documenting variances.
• Determine product selections based on specification requirements, project scope, cost targets, and applicable code standards.
• Verify that products meet UL, fire and smoke ratings, ADA, life safety, and local building codes.
• Prepare shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using manufacturer catalogs and company software.
• Prepare elevations using CAD or detailing software as needed.
• Write technical notes identifying issues or verifications for GC/architect during submittal.
• Review schedules and submittals for errors and resubmit as needed.
• Maintain organized, accurate project files throughout the lifecycle.
