Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Minnesota to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll and client service for our community. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, generate financial statements and process payroll for clients.

The role requires 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and knowledge of bookkeeping practices. Familiarity with Xero is a plus, with competitive pay and opportunities for growth within our franchise network.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies and regulations.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
