Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced bookkeeper in Minnesota to manage bookkeeping, payroll, and client service. You will enter transactions, balance accounts, and prepare payroll while supporting client retention and growth opportunities.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, and national bookkeeping/payroll certifications or the ability to obtain them. Experience with Xero is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping certifications or the ability to obtain them.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP & procedures.
• Ability to interpret policies and handle confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
