Job description

Description:

TEKsystems is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to provide comprehensive support for one of our clients based out of Jeffersonville, OH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver hands-on technical assistance for hardware and software, addressing end-user needs effectively.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems to optimize performance.

Hardware Maintenance:

  • Set up and deploy new computers, laptops, and other devices.
  • Conduct hardware repairs and upgrades as needed.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to secure necessary replacement parts and equipment.

Software Support:

  • Guide users in installing, configuring, and updating software applications.
  • Identify and resolve software errors, compatibility concerns, and system crashes.
  • Provide best practices and instructional support on software usage.

Problem Resolution and Escalation:

  • Accurately document technical issues and resolutions in a tracking system.
  • Escalate complex problems to specialized teams when required.
  • Follow up with users to ensure successful resolution and gather feedback.

Hardware Inventory and Asset Management:

  • Maintain precise records of hardware and software inventory.
  • Oversee the allocation, movement, and disposal of IT assets.

Work Environment:

  • Fully on-site role, requiring hands-on engagement with users and equipment.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in troubleshooting and technical support.
  • Knowledge of hardware setup, imaging, and deployment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and customer service orientation.
  • Effective communication skills to assist users with technical issues.
  • Familiarity with automation processes and IT security best practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or education preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in deskside support, technical troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize workload efficiently.

Experience Level:

  • Intermediate

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
