Akkodis is seeking a Desktop Support Technician in Hillsboro, OR for a 6-month contract. The role focuses on hands-on PC and server hardware/software support, imaging, deployment, and trouble shooting in a manufacturing or production environment.

The position offers a rate range of $25.00 to $31.00 per hour and requires 2+ years of experience with Windows OS, imaging, BIOS/UEFI, and hardware upgrades. Benefit offerings are available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on PC/servers support experience.
• Experience configuring Windows OS, software, drivers.
• Experience with PC imaging and system deployment.
• Hardware upgrades such as RAM/SSD/graphics.
• Diagnosing hardware and software issues.
• Experience with BIOS/UEFI and firmware is a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing or regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Configure, test, repair, or support PCs, servers, or similar computer systems.
• Install and troubleshoot Windows OS, software, drivers, and hardware.
• Image, deploy, clone, and recover systems.
• Install and upgrade PC hardware components.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Set up servers or server-class hardware.
• Practice virus scanning, malware detection, and basic security.
• Work with BIOS/UEFI and firmware diagnostics.
• Software media creation or image deployment processes.
• Experience in manufacturing/production environment is a plus.

Rate Range: $25.00 - $31.00 P/HR.; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Role And Responsibilities

• 2+ years of hands-on experience configuring, testing, repairing, or supporting PCs, servers, or similar computer systems.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting Windows operating systems, software applications, device drivers, and hardware.
• Experience with PC imaging, system deployment, cloning, backup, and recovery processes.
• Experience installing and upgrading PC hardware such as RAM, SSDs/HDDs, graphics cards, network adapters, and peripheral devices.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving PC hardware and software issues.
• Experience setting up and configuring servers or server-class hardware preferred.
• Experience with virus scanning, malware detection, and basic computer security practices.
• Experience working with BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware, drivers, and hardware diagnostics preferred.
• Experience with software installation media creation, software burning, or image deployment processes preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, production, test, or regulated environment is a plus.
