Akkodis is seeking a technician for a 12-month contract in Reno, NV. You will troubleshoot servers, install components, update firmware, and configure IPs while collaborating with network teams. The role requires basic Linux command-line skills and strong communication in a data-center setting.

The position offers shift blocks with night hours and a pay range of $35-44 per hour, with potential for renewal based on performance and business needs.

• Understanding of basic safety and security protocols within a data center.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot server issues and identify root causes.
• Order, install, and replace server components; return defective parts to vendors.
• Update and maintain server firmware and configurations; assign IPs and credentials.
• Support network admins with server tasks including cabling, re-routing, and optics replacement.
• Rack, stack, cable, and deploy servers or switches for remote configuration.

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $35-44/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

LOCATION DETAILS

SHIFT SCHEDULE

Block A: Sunday to Wednesday, 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Block B: Wednesday to Saturday, 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Contractors will begin on a Monday through Friday schedule from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM for the first 30 days of training.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot server issues and identify root causes
• Order, install, and replace server components; return defective parts to vendors
• Update and maintain server firmware
• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers
• Support network administrators with server-related tasks, including:
  • Replacing broken or damaged cables
  • Re‑routing cables to different server or switch ports
  • Replacing optics on server and switch ports
  • Upgrading and installing server hardware components
  • Rack, stack, cable, and temporarily deploy servers or switches for remote configuration
  • Respond to network administrator requests for hands‑on server and switch support
