Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Desktop Support professional for an onsite role in Chandler, AZ. You will handle a broad range of Tier-2 desktop support tasks and work closely with Tier-1 and Tier-3 teams to resolve end-user IT issues.

The role focuses on Windows OS, Active Directory, imaging, VoIP, and multi-platform support, with occasional remote support for additional locations. Travel to other Microchip facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of IT support experience.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting Windows OS, Active Directory, and Office 365.
• Ability to manage and support multiple users and priorities.
• Demonstrated proactive troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment supporting 600+ users.
• Comfortable working within a tiered support structure with multiple teams.
• Experience working in or with engineering labs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support for desktop hardware/software and network/storage for 600+ users.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows OS (XP/7/10/11) and devices in a heterogeneous environment.
• Operate and maintain internal data communication systems, including VoIP.
• Manage user and computer objects within Active Directory.
• Perform Windows imaging for break-fix and deployment of new equipment.
• Analyze, install, modify, and support operating systems, databases, and utilities.
• Provide support for basic Unix/Linux requests.
• Assist the IS Support Manager in standardizing processes and policies.
• Participate in IT/infrastructure projects as needed.
• Deliver remote support for select remote/home-based users.
