Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Desktop Support specialist for an onsite, 6+ month contract in Chicago, IL. You will be the first contact for incidents, log and triage tickets, and support hardware, OS, and software environments.

The role requires 1–2 years in a help desk, familiarity with ITSM tools, Windows/M365 expertise, and strong customer service skills. Onsite work and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a technical support or help desk role.
• Experience with ITSM platforms (e.g., Incident/Request management).
• Proficiency in Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and remote support tools.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and endpoint security basics.
• Basic PowerShell scripting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for incident and request tickets via phone, email, and chat.
• Log, triage, and resolve tickets with accurate categorization and prioritization.
• Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and applications using diagnostic tools and scripts.
• Support user provisioning and access management (Active Directory).
• Assist in software rollouts, patches, and configuration updates per change control.
• Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2 with thorough documentation.
