Job summary

McCoy Group, Inc. in Dubuque, IA is hiring a Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. You will provide hands-on technical assistance to users, troubleshoot problems, and support hardware and software across the office.

You'll work with senior IT staff on configuration, installation, and documentation of network components, with occasional travel in the region. A bachelor’s degree in CS/CIS/MIS or an equivalent two-year degree with experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, CIS, MIS, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience supporting network and PC hardware & software.
• Strong problem solving and customer service.
• Ability to travel within IA/WI/IL/MN occasionally.
• Proficient with MS Office/Outlook and standard business software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to computer users in person, via telephone or electronically.
• Provide front-line tier one assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, e‑mail, corporate software systems, operating systems and general troubleshooting.
• Assist senior IT staff in the configuration of hardware including laptops/workstations, phones, and other network devices.
• Consult with users, identifying and documenting system requirements/specifications.
• Perform onsite configuration, installation, testing and documentation of network components.
