Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an experienced deskside/onsite IT engineer in Decorah, IA to install, troubleshoot, and maintain office IT hardware and software. You'll handle printers, scanners, mobile devices, and OT equipment across shopfloor environments, ensuring uptime and user satisfaction.

You will interact with IT/OT teams, manage incidents in ServiceNow, and contribute to knowledge bases while adhering to ITIL practices. Travel to other sites may be required; strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years hands-on deskside/onsite IT support experience.
• Strong Windows/macOS OS installation and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands & feet support for network and datacentre devices.
• Solid understanding of hardware, software, and networking concepts.
• Experience with OT tech such as PLCs and plant IT systems.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Setup and troubleshooting of printers, faxes, copiers, and RF devices.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity and diagnose hardware/software issues.
• Provide smart hands OT support for PLCs and shopfloor IT systems.
• Be the primary IT owner at site and drive issue resolution to minimise downtime.
• Support hardware/software on desktops, laptops, rugged devices, and peripherals.
• Maintain data closets and perform daily health checks on IT infra.
• Coordinate with IT/OT vendors and update stakeholders on incidents.
• Lead P1 resolutions and ensure timely site-wide uptime.
• Create documentation and KB articles for day-to-day processes.
