Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer for a full-time role in Glen Allen, VA, supporting a national Consumer and Commercial Electronics R&D client in a banking-style environment.

You will manage hardware and software issues, perform desktop imaging, data backup/restoration, and ensure software versions are correct across devices. Strong communication and independent work in a fast-paced setting are essential. On-site work Mon-Fri 8am–5pm with potential after-hours.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional software/hardware support experience.
• Experience with Virtual/Desktop/Laptop Management and infrastructure apps including VDI, patch management, encryption, antivirus.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing or similar.
• Knowledge of two-factor authentication.
• MS Office suite troubleshooting including MS Teams and Outlook.
• Ability to back up and recover user data and reimage devices remotely and on-site.
• Strong customer communication and service skills.
• Willingness to work onsite Mon-Fri 8am–5pm with possible after-hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage hardware and software service-related issues for end-users in ServiceNow.
• Provide cross-divisional troubleshooting by updating and maintaining tickets.
• Reimage PCs and back up/restore user data.
• Install and validate software versions on devices; verify functionality.
• Document service events accurately in work orders and ticketing systems.
