Job summary

Reed Smith LLP is seeking a Desktop Engineer to develop, manage, and optimize end-user computing across physical and virtual platforms. You will support imaging, packaging, endpoint configuration, VDI, and print services for firm users.

The role requires 5+ years of enterprise desktop/VDI experience, with Citrix/Azure Virtual Desktop familiarity and strong documentation and communication skills. Remote work is available with proximity to the Pittsburgh office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline, or equivalent training and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting enterprise desktop and virtual desktop environments.
• Experience with Citrix and/or Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
• Experience with imaging, packaging, and deployment tools (SCCM, Intune, Endpoint Policy Manager).
• Experience with MDM technologies (Intune, Endpoint Policy Manager, Group Policy).
• Experience with print server technologies and cloud print solutions.
• Law firm experience and knowledge of legal industry applications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support desktop imaging and deployment using SCCM, Ghost Solution Suite, or similar tools.
• Manage endpoint configuration and mobile device management (Intune, PolicyPak).
• Develop imaging standards for OS deployment, drivers, and app configuration.
• Package applications (MSI/EXE) for deployment across physical and virtual environments.
• Create virtualized application packages using App-V, MSIX, or Cloudpager.
• Deploy and manage applications across platforms for consistent delivery.
• Design, deploy, and support on-premises and cloud print services.
• Lead installation, deployment, and upgrades of application systems.
• Provide advanced administration and support for application system platforms.
• Monitor performance and availability of application systems.
