Job summary

DAn Solutions is seeking a VDI Engineer to support Government activities, focusing on Citrix XenDesktop and NetScaler deployments in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD. The role requires TS/SCI with CI polygraph and on-site work.

Responsibilities include designing, testing, implementing, securing, and maintaining VDI environments, including Azure Virtual Desktop and RDS on Windows Server 2019/2022, with strong scripting in PowerShell or Python. On-site work only.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing desktop virtualization and VDI architectures.
• Proficiency with Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp and NetScaler in Gov/mov environments.
• Hands-on with Windows Server, RDS, SQL clustering, and Azure Virtual Desktop.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, design, test, implement and maintain Citrix XenDesktop and NetScaler solutions.
• Design Microsoft infrastructure including Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud, and hybrid.
• Interact with Government stakeholders to address technical concerns and issues.

Our work depends on a VDI Engineer joining our team to support Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD.

As a VDI Engineer supporting the Government, you will be trusted to engineer new and improved enhancements for existing and emerging virtual desktop technologies.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Engineering, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, securing, and managing the full life cycle of the complex Citrix XenDesktop and NetScaler solutions deployed
• Designing and supporting Microsoft infrastructure solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud and hybrid
• Interacting with Government stakeholders regarding technical considerations for problems, issues, or conflicts
• Engineering, implementing, mitigating, monitoring, and tuning VDI environment and management software to obtain Authorize to Operate (ATO) for new VDI solutions
• Managing Citrix products (Virtual Apps, Virtual Desktops, ADC, Provisioning)
• Managing Azure products (Azure Virtual Desktops)
• Operating and executing scripting skills in PowerShell or Python
• Providing Tier 3 and above support as needed (troubleshooting, problem resolution support, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA))
• Preparing and maintaining documentation for VDI solutions, processes, and procedures related to engineering projects

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Experience performing engineering work associated with the design, development, maintenance, and testing of infrastructure for desktop application packaging and deployment technologies
• Knowledge of Citrix XenApp, AppLayering, and/or Enterprise Layer Manager (ELM)
• Hands-on experience with SQL Clustering Failover
• Knowledge of cloud, networking, and enterprise architectures
• Expertise in the Windows 10/11 – Standard Operating Environment (SOE), imaging, evergreen, etc.
• Experience with Remote Desktop Service (RDS) on Windows Server 2019/2022
• Ability to deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) on Windows Server 2019/2022

• Managing Modern Desktops (MD-101)
• CWS-215: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 Administration On-Premises and in Citrix Cloud
