Job summary

DAn Solutions, Inc. is seeking a VDI Engineer to support Government activities on site in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD.

The role involves engineering and maintaining large Citrix XenDesktop/NetScaler environments, designing Microsoft infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with security requirements. Responsibilities include hands-on VDI engineering, scripting (PowerShell/Python), and Tier 3+ support, with documentation of processes and configurations.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, testing, and maintaining desktop virtualization infrastructure.
• Expertise with Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, AppLayering/ELM is preferred.
• Strong scripting with PowerShell or Python.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, design, test, implement, maintain, secure and manage Citrix XenDesktop/NetScaler solutions in large Enterprise environments.
• Design and support Microsoft infrastructure incl. Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud and hybrid.
• Interact with Government stakeholders to discuss technical considerations and issues.
• Engineer, mitigate, monitor and tune VDI environments to obtain ATO for new VDI solutions.
• Manage Citrix products (Virtual Apps, Virtual Desktops, ADC, Provisioning) and Azure products (Azure Virtual Desktops).
• Operate and execute scripting in PowerShell or Python; provide Tier 3+ support and RCA when needed.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for VDI solutions, processes and procedures.

infrastructure needs. Our work depends on a VDI Engineer joining our team to support Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD.
As a VDI Engineer supporting the Government, you will be trusted to engineer new and improved enhancements for existing and emerging virtual desktop technologies.
In this role, a typical day will include:

• Engineering, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, securing, and managing the full life cycle of the complex Citrix XenDesktop and NetScaler solutions deployed in the large Enterprise environment
• Designing and supporting Microsoft infrastructure solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud and hybrid
• Interacting with Government stakeholders regarding technical considerations for problems, issues, or conflicts
• Engineering, implementing, mitigating, monitoring, and tuning VDI environment and management software to obtain Authorize to Operate (ATO) for new VDI solutions
• Managing Citrix products (Virtual Apps, Virtual Desktops, ADC, Provisioning)
• Managing Azure products (Azure Virtual Desktops)
• Operating and executing scripting skills in PowerShell or Python
• Providing Tier 3 and above support as needed (troubleshooting, problem resolution support, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA))
• Preparing and maintaining documentation for VDI solutions, processes, and procedures related to engineering projects

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Experience performing engineering work associated with the design, development, maintenance, and testing of infrastructure for desktop application packaging and
  deployment technologies
• Knowledge of Citrix XenApp, AppLayering, and/or Enterprise Layer Manager (ELM)
• Hands-on experience with SQL Clustering Failover
• Knowledge of cloud, networking, and enterprise architectures
• Expertise in the Windows 10/11 – Standard Operating Environment (SOE), imaging, evergreen, etc.
• Experience with Remote Desktop Service (RDS) on Windows Server 2019/2022
• Ability to deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) on Windows Server 2019/2022

Preferred certification(s):

• Managing Modern Desktops (MD-101)
• CWS-215: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 Administration On-Premises and in Citrix Cloud
• Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (1Y0-312)
