Job summary

Gunnison is seeking a Desktop Technician to support the Department of the Interior/Indian Affairs (DOI/IA) user base in Portland, Oregon. The role provides end-user computing support across desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, including network infrastructure, and ensures reliable IT operations, with duties spanning hardware/software installation and maintenance.

The position requires an Associate degree or equivalent, 3+ years of related experience, and the ability to obtain a government

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education/experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years of related technical experience.
• Experience supporting desktop, laptop, mobile devices, printers and scanners.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced Tier II/III technical support and operate independently with minimal supervision, resolving moderately complex issues.
• Provide advanced desktop and end-user support for hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and network connectivity.
• Support Microsoft Office, Google Workspace (Gmail), and related productivity tools.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems.
• Support GIS, AutoCAD, and other business applications.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and system changes in a ticketing system.
• Collaborate with IT teams to resolve escalated issues.
