Job summary

Spectra Tech is actively seeking an IT Support Specialist/Technician, Level 1 in Los Alamos, NM. The role focuses on deploying desktops to 700 stations, configuring dual monitors, thin clients, and related peripherals, and documenting asset information.

This position requires physical work (lifting up to 25 lbs) and weekend availability (Friday to Sunday). On-site duties include post-deployment support and on-site troubleshooting to ensure a smooth rollout.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up PC hardware, thin clients, dual-monitor configurations, and basic workstation peripherals.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical setup.
• Available for weekend work and part-time shifts.

Responsibilities

• Unbox and physically set up new desktop/laptop hardware, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals at user desks.
• Provide on-site troubleshooting to resolve minor post-deployment issues.
• Apply and record asset tags, serial numbers, MAC addresses, and asset tag numbers.
• Maintain organized staging/warehouse area and ensure clean workspaces.
