• Maintain organized staging/warehouse area and ensure clean workspaces.

Spectra Tech is immediately seeking an IT Support Specialist/Technician, level 1 in Los Alamos, NM.

Background: This project is requesting support for individuals to deploy desktops to 700 stations. These persons will have the knowledge and expertise deploy basic desktop and peripheral equipment, collect, organize, and store the older replaced equipment. Equipment includes replacing power strips, keyboards, mouse, card readers, thin clients, monitors with provided replacement equipment as required under the LLCC.

Technical Aptitude: Experience setting up PC hardware, thin clients, dual-monitor configurations, and basic workstation peripherals.

Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. repeatedly, crawl under desks to route cables/power strips, and stand or walk for extended periods.

Schedule Availability: Must be available for weekend work (Friday to Sunday).

Specific Tasks:

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Remove existing monitors, thin clients, power strips, keyboards, mouse.
• Add new monitors, thin clients, power strips, keyboards, and mouse. 600-700 thin clients and up to 2000 monitors.
• Cardboard and Styrofoam and general ‘trash’ management from the desktop replacements.
• Must be well organized, detail oriented, and keep accurate documentation.
• Unboxing & Setup: Unbox and physically set up new desktop/laptop hardware, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals at user desks.
• Post-Deployment Support: Provide on-site troubleshooting ("elbow support") to users immediately following installation to resolve minor post-deployment issues.
• Apply and record physical asset tags to all new devices and record serial numbers, MAC addresses, and asset tag numbers as instructed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure staging room and warehouse area.
• Clean and wipe down desk area and remove any dust after removing old equipment but prior to new equipment plugged in.
• Verify power on and foundational infrastructure signals from the Certificate and/or DHCP server.
• Report issue.
• Attempt Basic troubleshooting as instructed by oversight staff onsite.
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
